Application Fees

  • To submit the SSC CGL application, candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 100/- as an application fee. However, female candidates, SC/ST candidates, pwd candidates, and ex-servicemen candidates are exempt from paying the fee.

  • The fee can be paid via SBI challan, SBI Net Banking, or credit/debit card from any bank. A challan form will be generated online for candidates who wish to pay in cash. They should take the printout of the challan after completing Part-1 registration and deposit the fee at any SBI branch before proceeding to Part-2 registration.
  • Candidates who want to pay online can proceed directly to Part-2 registration after completing Part-1 registration. They must provide their registration number and date of birth to proceed with Part-2 registration.

Exam Pattern

The initial step of the selection procedure involves an impartial computer-based test. For SSC CGL 2023 Tier 1, the test comprises 100 questions, with 25 questions from each of the four subjects – Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness. The questions will be based on the syllabus for grades 6 to 10. To understand the exam pattern of the first stage in the selection process, candidates can refer to the table given below.

Note- Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the exam, while candidates with scribes will have 80 minutes.

Selection Process

The selection process for SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level) consists of two tiers of computer-based tests, namely Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Tier 1 is a compulsory computer-based test that includes Paper-I for all candidates. Those who have applied for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) position and have been shortlisted in Tier-I for these posts will also take Paper II. The duration of Session-I will be 2 hours and 15 minutes, while Session II will only last for 15 minutes.

Tier 2 of the SSC CGL examination is also computer-based and consists of three separate papers, called Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III. Paper-I is mandatory for all candidates, while Paper-III is only for those candidates who have been shortlisted in Tier-I for the Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer positions.

As a single Data Entry Task, the Data Entry Speed Test has been incorporated into Module II of Paper III, with a duration of 15 minutes.
