2.90 Lakh Medical Graduates Appeared in NEET PG

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Post Graduate (NEET PG 2023) was conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Around 2.90 lakh medical graduates appeared in the NEET PG 2023 exam at various places across the country. The deadline for PG candidates to complete the internship has been extended till August 11 and counseling is expected to begin in September.

NEET PG 2022 Cut-Off Score Last Year

Last year, along with the release of the NEET PG results, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBE/NBEMS) also released the cut-off for NEET PG 2022. Whereas last year the NEET PG 2022 cut-off score for the General/ EWS category was 275 out of 800. Whereas the cut-off for SC/ST/OBC (including PWD) was 245, and it was 260 for PWD category candidates of unreserved and general categories.

NEET PG Marking Scheme

NEET PG is a computer-based test consisting of 300 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question carries 4 marks, and there is a negative marking for incorrect answers. The marking scheme for NEET PG is as follows: “NEET PG Result 2023 Out on Date 14/03/2023 – Check NEET PG Result 2023, Cut-Off Marks, Answer Key, Rank List, Score Card Download on www.nbe.edu.in”

  • Correct answer: +4 marks
  • Incorrect answer: -1 mark
  • Unanswered question: 0 marks

If a candidate selects more than one answer for a question, it will be treated as an incorrect answer, and 1 mark will be deducted. If a candidate doesn’t answer a question, there will be no negative marking. The total marks of the NEET PG exam are 1200, and the candidate’s score is calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. The raw score is then converted into a percentile rank, which is used to prepare the merit list for admission.

Talking about NEET PG cut-off marks, the cut-off score for the general category and EWS is 291 out of 800. Whereas, it is 274 for Gen-PWBD and 257 for SC/ST/OBC.
