The Course

Economic reforms carried out in the Indian Economy since 1991 have opened a flood gate of opportunities in the financial sector of the economy, especially in the banking and insurance sector. Banking has now become more competitive and requires innovative ways to provide services to customers. Thus, there is a tremendous scope of employment in this sector. However, it has been increasingly felt by the banking industry that there is a wide gap between their requirements and the curriculum prescribed by the universities and colleges. Therefore, to bridge this gap, ICICI Bank has made a pioneering effort to develop industry academia partnership for introduction and offering of meaningful courses directly linked with the job market. This initiative is for overall development of students by providing them an opportunity to associate with the banking and financial services through vocational and academic training.

The course on Foundation of Banking has been designed by ICICI Bank with the aim to equip student with the basic knowledge of banking and necessary skill required for a successful career in the Banking Sector and thereby increasing the employability of the students.

• Distinguishing Features:
  • E-Learning Centre with the state of the art facility for online learning.
  • This course can be pursued with any other course. CLC / Migration Certificates are not insisted upon for admission.
  • Joint Certificate by VBRI and ICICI bank will be issued to students, who successfully complete this course.
• Target Groups: Graduates (especially Commerce, Management or Arts graduate with Economics) having working knowledge of computers and aim to build their career in Banking Sector.
• Eligibility: Minimum 50% marks at school as well as graduation level (Final year students may also apply)
• Duration: 4 Months (2-3 hours per day)
• Timing: Evening hours
• Fee: Rs.10,000/-
• Admission: On the basis of the merit giving due weightage to marks obtained at Secondary, Sr. Secondary and Graduation level exams.

  • Module I – General Skills
  • Module II - Retail Banking
  • Module III – Banking Environment
• Examination and Evaluation:
  • Continuous evaluation process will be followed.
  • Projects and Presentations will be evaluated.
  • E-Learning Certification is mandatory for all modules.
  • Final evaluation through exam at the end of the course.
• Placement: ICICI Bank will hold campus interview for the recruitment of successful candidates.
