In this age of economic liberalisation and globalisation, courses
pertaining to management, economics, finance etc. have assumed a great deal of
importance. Catching up with this trend, in 1996, VBRI pioneered in introducing
a management course at undergraduate level. So far, nine batches have
successfully completed this course and students are doing exceedingly well in
higher studies and corporate sector. Students passed from this institute have
been able to get admissions in prestigious colleges and institutions like IIM.,
ICFAI, S.P. Jain Institute of Management, Nirma Institute of Management, FMS
Delhi University, Symboisis-Pune etc. for higher studies in management.
The BBM programme widens horizon and opportunity for students aiming
career in corporate sector. It provides indepth knowledge of various functional
areas of management, finance, economics, computer application and quantitative
techniques. The course aims at enabling the students to understand and improve
their ability in making vital financial and administrative decisions. |
Objectives

CA/ICWA/CS etc.
3. To encourage students towards self employment.
4. To develop professional skill in the students.
5. To impart effective training in marketing and finance.
6. To inculcate the entrepreneur skill and leadership qualities.

Teaching & Evaluation
Regular classes will be held in the morning from 8 to 12.00. UGC and AICTE
qualified facilty will be involved in the teaching prgramme. Apart from this,
pedagogy includes lectures from working executives and professionals of
corporate sectors, discussions, seminars, extensive use of computers, projects
and report writing. Regular industrial visits and eight week industrial training
after second year of the course are effective parts of the programme.
Evaluation will be both internal as well as external. Internal evaluation
schemes shall carry 25 marks and external evaluation shall be in the form of
final exams conducted by the university and shall carry 75 marks.
Each theory paper shall be of three hour duration. To pass a candidate is
required to obtain at least 40% marks in each paper & 50% in aggregate.
Attendance : 75% attendance will be compulsory for appearing in the
university exam. |
Industrial
Visit & Training
From time to time industrial visits will be arranged so that students can
get an exposure to operational activities of various industries.
Institute will arrange a compulsory eight week summer training for all the
students at the end of the second year. Through this training they will get an
insight into the intricacies of business. The students will be required to
submit a report of their industrial training.
Publication : One of the distinguishing features of the department is to
regularly publish annual magazine 'Strides' and newsletter 'Tarkash'. Presently,
preparations are on to publish eleventh issue of the Strides. |
